Gilmore critical of SIPTU Lisbon condition

watch

Labour leader Eamon Gilmore has criticised the conditional support for the Lisbon Treaty from the country's largest union as 'dangerous brinkmanship'.

SIPTU said yesterday that the Government must promise to introduce legislation to ensure the right of unions to negotiate if it is to back a yes vote.

Mr Gilmore said no organisation should use the referendum to advance sectional interests.
