Gardaí are investigating the death of a teenager whose body was recovered from a river in Co Donegal last night.
The 14-year-old boy was reported to have been out walking with friends on the exposed mud of the River Foyle at St Johnston when the tide turned shortly before 6pm.
His friends raised the alarm and a Sligo-based helicopter was dispatched by Malin Head Coast Guard.
Following an extensive search, the boy's body was recovered from the water just after 9pm.
He was brought to Letterkenny General Hospital and gardaí at Carrigans station are investigating the incident.
Meanwhile, the body of a man has been found near Benbulben in Co Sligo.
Rescue teams located the body as they searched for a missing man.
Gardaí are not confirming the identity of the body until further checks are carried out.
However, it is believed to be that of a Polish man in his 30's who went missing during a hillwalking trip yesterday evening.
