A US B-1 bomber caught fire after landing at a an air base in Qatar today but the four crew members on board evacuated and are safe, the US air force has said.
The incident occurred at 9.10 pm local time as the plane was taxiing at al-Udeid air base, 35kms south of the capital Doha.
The accident is being investigated.
An official earlier said the plane hit something on the runway, causing an explosion.
Qatar-based al-Jazeera television earlier reported that the plane exploded.
