Gardaí have said they do not think the deaths of a couple at their home in Co Roscommon were suspicious.
The bodies of the 67-year-old man and his 76-year-old wife were discovered when gardaí called to their house in Knockvicar, near Boyle, last night.
Post mortem examinations will not now take place until tomorrow.
Gardaí say a solid fuel cooker was used to burn coal at the house and it appeared ventilation was poor.
The couple who died have been named locally as Paddy Joe and Annie McCormack.
They were well known in the community for their daily visits on motorbike to nearby towns.
Neighbours and friends have told RTÉ News they fear carbon monoxide poisoning may have been responsible for the accidental deaths.
Community alerted gardaí after absence
Neighbour Seamus Duignan said the McCormacks had no enemies and the local community were relieved that there appeared to be no third party involved in their deaths.
Gardaí were called to the house at around 10pm last night. They became concerned when a local shopkeeper reported that he had not seen Mr McCormack since last Thursday.
A technical examination of the scene was carried out overnight. There were no signs of forced entry to the house.
Neighbours say the couple in Boyle had not been seen for several days and did not collect any pension payments last week at the local post office.
The couple lived alone in the house, about 12km from Boyle and a similar distance from Carrick-on-Shannon. They had no children.
