EU treaty tackles climate change, Ahern

Bertie Ahern has said that Irish concerns on climate change could be best addressed by a Yes vote to the new European Union Reform Treaty.

Taoiseach Bertie Ahern has said that Irish concerns on climate change could be best addressed by a yes vote to the new European Union Reform Treaty. 

During an address at the Ógra Fianna Fáil National Conference in Tullamore, Mr Ahern said climate change is one of the greatest national and international challenges today.

He said the Irish Government had ensured that the issue was prioritised in the final text of the treaty.
