A bomb that exploded in a crowd attending a dog-fighting match in Afghanistan's southern city of Kandahar has killed at least 80 people.
Around 50 others were injured.
Officials blamed the Taliban for the explosion but the al-Qaeda linked group did not immediately claim responsibility.
The White House condemned the bombing the saying it showed US foes there 'offer nothing but violence and death.'
British Foreign Secretary David Miliband condemned the 'cowardly and abhorrent' suicide blast'.
The attack is one of the deadliest amid a resurgence of the Taliban militia toppled by US-led forces in 2001.
Bodies and bloodied limbs lay among boots, Afghan caps, turbans, shawls and mobile phones after the explosion that struck as two fighting dogs were beginning a match.
