A suicide blast at a rally organised by the party of slain Pakistan politician Benazir Bhutto has killed 37 people and injured nearly 100.
A crowd of people was waiting for food outside a local candidate's house when the suicide bomber drove a car into the crowd and detonated a bomb.
The explosion in the northwestern town of Parachinar was the latest in a series of attacks ahead of Monday's polls, and came on the final day of official campaigning.
Polliticians are making a final push for votes today before a midnight deadline, after which all rallies are banned until after the landmark polls.
In a separate incident in the nearby Bajaur tribal area, militants blew up a polling.
And police in the southern city of Hyderabad have arrested a suspected militant equipped with a suicide jacket and explosives who was planning an attack during the polls.
Ms Bhutto's widower, Asif Ali Zardari, has met former premier Nawaz Sharif in Lahore for new talks on possible power-sharing after the vote if the opposition wins a majority.
