A new opinion poll shows a significant increase in the number of people who do not believe Taoiseach Bertie Ahern's evidence to the Mahon Tribunal.
Despite this the Red C poll in today's Sunday Business Post shows an increase in support for Fianna Fáil.
According to Red C, the party's support has increased by four points since the end of November to 36%.
Fine Gael is up by one point to 32%. However the Labour Party is down three points to 10%.
The Green Party is down two points to 7%, while Sinn Féin gains two points to 9%. The PDs are unchanged at 2% and Independents and others drop two points to 4%.
Asked if they believed Bertie Ahern's evidence to the Mahon Tribunal, a clear majority, 54% said they did not, an increase of 12% since last September.
Fianna Fáil has welcomed the findings of the opinion poll saying it confirms an increase in support for the party.
In a statement, Fianna Fáil said the poll was taken after two months of planned, sustained personal attacks by Fine Gael and the Labour Party on both Fianna Fáil and the Taoiseach and the results indicated that the Opposition had, yet again, got it wrong.
