A new opinion poll shows a significant increase in the number of people who do not believe the Taoiseach's evidence to the Mahon Tribunal.

Despite this the Red C poll in tomorrow's Sunday Business Post shows an increase in support for Fianna Fáil.

The poll will be much more to Fianna Fáil's liking than an earlier one in the Irish Times.

According to Red C, the party's support has increased by four points since the end of November to 36%.

Fine Gael is up by one point to 32%. However the Labour Party is down three points to 10%.

The Greens Party is down two points to 7%, while Sinn Féin gain two points to 9%. The PDs is unchanged at 2% and Independents and others drop two points to 4%.

While Fianna Fáil may be pleased with the poll, the party leader and Taoiseach may not.

Asked if they believed Bertie Ahern's evidence to the Mahon Tribunal, a clear majority, 54% said they did not, an increase of 12% since last September.
