Pope Benedict has appointed a Dublin priest as a top media advisor.
From today Monsignor Paul Tighe becomes secretary of the Pontifical Council for Social Communications.
This is the number two post in the body which helps to devise a new media strategy for the Holy See.
A native of Navan, Monsignor Tighe has been Director of Public Affairs for the Dublin Archdiocese for the last year.
