Two members of Dublin Fire Brigade delivered a baby boy in the back of an ambulance on the South Circular Road, Dublin, early this morning.
The expectant mother was being rushed from her home in Ballyfermot to the Coombe Women's Hospital when the crew was forced to pull over a short distance away from the hospital.
The woman, who was in her early 30s, gave birth to healthy baby boy. She was accompanied in the ambulance by her husband.
The two firemen involved, Ron Hickey and Brian Cosgrave, are from Dolphin's Barn firestation.
