An Irish man who was apparently kidnapped in Ghana over the weekend has been rescued by local police.
The 48-year-old man from Co Clare was kidnapped last Friday by an unnamed group in a row over the recovery of alleged investment monies.
He was rescued by Ghanaian police and is now receiving assistance from the Irish Honorary Consul based in Accra.
He is due to meet with Ghanaian police again to give more details of what happened to him.
