A 13-year-old boy who collapsed and died during a GAA training session in Co Tyrone became the fourth young person to die suddenly this week on the island of Ireland.

The victim fell onto the pitch at the O'Donovan Rossa GAA club in Ardboe.

Club officials tried desperately to revive the young player but he was pronounced dead in hospital a short time later.

Chairman of Ardboe GAA club, Kevin Teague, said today's tragedy has deeply shocked the club and the local community.

He is the fourth young person to die suddenly on the island this week.
