A post mortem examination was due to take place today on the body of a 23-year-old man who died after attending the Electric Picnic Festival in Co Laois over the weekend.
The man has been named as John Fitzgerald of Healy's Bridge, Carrigrohane, Co Cork.
Mr Fitzgerald became ill in the early hours of yesterday morning, and was treated at the festival's medical centre, but died later at the Midland Regional Hospital in Portlaoise.
Gardaí say foul play is not suspected and they are not expecting to release the results of the post mortem.
The promoters of the festival have extended their sympathies to Mr Fitzgerald's family.
