A man is being questioned about the murder of a man in a machete attack in Co Down last year.

Mark Christie, 36, was hacked to death in the street by at least six men on 22 August 2006.

He was chased through the Kilcooley estate in Bangor, Co Down, before being surrounded and attacked.

Mr Christie had been given a suspended jail sentence on assault charges a week before his murder.

This morning police arrested a 27-year-old man in Bangor. He has been taken to a serious crime suite in Co Antrim to be questioned.
