A man awaiting sentencing for an apartment scam has been granted bail at a vacation sitting of Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.
Leszek Mikulski was previously refused bail by the High Court during his five months in custody.
The 27-year-old has admitted one scam involving an apartment at Usher's Quay near Dublin city centre. His lawyer says he will plead guilty to all 14 charges against him in October when he is due to be sentenced.
Mr Mikulski used false details when leasing an apartment, he would then advertise it again the next day under another identity, taking a cash deposit from another tenant, before disappearing.
Some of his victims were forced to live on the street.
Gardaí found almost €17,000 in a suitcase when they arrested him, while a further €10,000 paid by victims has never been recovered.
Judge Petria McDonnell granted him bail after accepting an independent surety of €5,000 from his friend, Aidan Collins, from Ratoath, Co Meath, and hearing he had been offered a job.
Judge McDonnell imposed a number of conditions including that Mr Mikulski resides with Mr Collins and signs on at Santry Garda Station daily.
