Seven people have been killed and 47 wounded in a car bomb blast in the northern Iraqi city of Kirkuk.

The bombing occurred in the al-Hurriyah fruit and vegetable market this morning.

An earlier roadside bomb targeting a police patrol in the city left one civilian dead.

Elsewhere, militants shot dead three Iraqi police officers in Mosul.

The men, who had been kidnapped six days earlier, were executed before a crowd of onlookers.
