A murder investigation is underway following the death of a 33-year-old man after he was seriously injured in a knife attack in Co Meath over a week ago.
Claudio Fernandes, originally from Brazil, was found stabbed in the head in Duleek town centre on 29 July.
Gardaí say Mr Fernandes, who had been living in Bellewstown, was involved in a row with another man when he sustained the injuries.
He was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda and was later transferred to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin.
He underwent emergency surgery, but died yesterday afternoon.
The State Pathologist carried out a post mortem and determined that Mr Fernandes died as a result of the stab wound that was inflicted.
A 17-year-old youth was arrested shortly after the incident and charged with possession of a knife. He has already appeared in court.
