Three people have been arrested following a drug seizure in Co Cork.
A man in his 50s and two women in their 20s were arrested after gardaí raided a house in Leamlara in east Cork. Up to €500,000 worth of drugs, thought to be either heroin or cocaine, was seized.
All three were arrested under drug trafficking legislation and can be held for up to seven days. The two women are being questioned at Cobh garda station and the man is being held at Midleton.
Gardaí have also conducted a search of woodland north of Leamlara. The operation involves detectives and uniformed gardaí from Cobh and Midleton, the north Cork divisional search team and a garda dog unit from Cork city.
The search is part of a crackdown by gardaí following the death of a man in the area six weeks ago.
Paudge O'Keeffe died of a suspected cocaine overdose after attending a party at a house at Rathcormac in north Cork in June.
Since then gardaí have conducted almost 50 similar searches.
