Man jailed after eight-month crime spree

A man with 48 previous convictions has been jailed for four and a half years by Dublin Circuit Criminal Court for a litany of offences.

21-year-old Marcus Reidy of Ballyogan Drive, Carrickmines in Dublin pleaded guilty to robbery, attempted robbery, production of a knife, two counts of criminal damage, two charges of car theft and three counts of dangerous driving on dates between 22 September 2005 and 7 April 2006.

Judge Katherine Delahunt sentenced him for the ten offences committed during an eight-month crime spree.

She suspended the final year of the term and banned him from driving for three years.
