The Prison Officers' Association has called an emergency meeting of its National Executive Council for tomorrow to decide whether or not to take industrial action because of concerns for staff safety and security at Cloverhill Prison.

In a statement, the POA accused management at the prison of not seriously addressing these concerns.

Prison Officers have already balloted for industrial action over the issue.
