The PSNI has named the man who died in hospital on Tuesday as Frazer Souter, known as Joel.

He died from injuries he received in an attack last Monday evening in Belfast.

Originally from England, he had been staying in hostels in the greater Belfast area.

Detectives investigating his murder say they have had a positive response from the public.

However, they have asked that a motorist in a light-coloured car who stopped and talked to police at 9.45pm on 2 July at the High Street and Victoria Street junction to contact them again.

Belfast Lord Mayor Jim Rodgers has condemned the murder and said it reflected badly on the city's efforts to attract tourists.
