The first Masters degree in video games to be offered by an Irish university will begin at Trinity College in October.
The year-long Masters in Interactive Entertainment will be open to 25 students who have achieved a minimum of a 2:1 honours degree in Computer Science or related degree such as maths, science or engineering.
Students will study the science and technology behind the video game entertainment and will study in a specially designed game laboratory.
The course has been designed in collaboration with some of the world's top game industry companies including Microsoft.
The deadline for application for the coming academic term is 31 July.
The global video game software industry is estimated to be worth about €15 billion a year and is growing by 25% annually.
