Gardaí are investigating an incident after two shots were fired from a car as it drove past a hotel on Main Street in Portarlington, Co Laois, last night.
The incident happened at 11.25pm.
A blue Audi car was later found on fire on the outskirts of the town; the car had been stolen last month in Maynooth, Co Kildare.
No one was injured in the incident.
Both scenes have been sealed off for technical examination.
