Former Galway Mayor Niall O Brolcháin is auctioning his environmentally-friendly Mayoral car on eBay for charity.
Last year, the Green Party Councillor and recent Dáil candidate turned down the traditional Mayoral Jaguar in favour of the more fuel-efficient Toyota Prius.
The hybrid car, which has an electric as well as petrol engine, is now up for auction on the eBay auction website.
Proceeds raised above the cost of the car to be split between 15 Galway charities.
Usually the Mayoral car is leased for a year and goes back to the garage at the end of each term to be sold on, but Cllr O Brolcháin secured the car at cost from Tom Hogan Motors.
Interested parties can bid on it through the website or at the Hogan dealership.
