The husband of Siobhan Kearney, who was found dead in her home in Goatstown, Dublin last year, has been charged with her murder.

50-year-old Brian Kearney appeared in Dún Laoghaire District Court this morning. It was told he pleaded not guilty when charged.

Mr Kearney was arrested at 6.50am this morning at Salvia, Knocknashee in Goatstown, and replied not guilty when charged with the murder of his wife.

Siobhan Kearney, 38, whose maiden name was McLoughlin, was found dead in the bedroom of her home at Knochnashee in February last year. Her son Dan, who was then aged three, was in the house at the time.

Members of the McLoughlin family, including Siobhan's parents and sisters, were in court today.

Mr Kearney remained expressionless throughout and did not look at his wife's family.

He was remanded in custody to appear again at Cloverhill District Court on 6 June.
