A 36-year-old woman has been charged at the district court in Cork with killing her husband on New Year's Eve.
Dilorom Sulaymanov, who is originally from Uzbekistan and living in Cork city, had previously been charged with assault causing serious harm to her husband.
39-year-old Abduazim Sulaymanov was stabbed at a house on the Ballinlough Road on 31 December 2006. He died at Cork University Hospital six days later.
Dilorom Sulaymanov was arrested and charged this morning with her husband's manslaughter.
She was remanded on bail until 13 June to allow for the preparation of the book of evidence in her case.
She was also granted free legal aid.
