The Israeli Prime Minister, Ehud Olmert, has warned that his government will step up its offensive against Gaza if Palestinian rocket attacks on his country continue.

Palestinian militants have fired further rockets into Israel without causing casualties.

At a cabinet meeting today, Israeli ministers agreed to continue strikes against Hamas targets. Ehud Olmert says action could be intensified, and tanks have been moved closer to the border.

Around 120 rocket attacks have been launched on southern Israel from Gaza since Wednesday, according to Israel.

Last night, Israel launched several overnight air raids on Gaza.

One air strike targeted a car in Gaza City killing three suspected Hamas militants.

A number of suspected weapons workshops were also targeted but there are no reports of any serious injuries.

The attacks came as the main Palestinian factions, Fatah and Hamas, observed their latest truce after days of heavy fighting.
