Gardaí in Athlone have arrested a man following the discovery of a quantity of drugs.
The drugs were seized at Doon outside the town yesterday afternoon.
One man was later arrested and is being held at Athlone Garda Station.
It is believed the drugs, which included a quantity of cocaine, have a street value of more than €50,000.
The arrest and seizure are part of an ongoing operation.
