Astronomers discover 'Earth-like' planet

European astronomers say they have discovered an Earth-like planet outside the solar system, which could theoretically be able to sustain life.

The relatively small planet is one of a number to orbit a star known as Gleeisa 581, but has not yet been named.

It is 200 trillion km or 20.5 light years away from Earth.

Scientists say it is orbiting its parent star at just the right distance to make it suitable for life.
