This Week: Willie Corduff, who spent three months in Mountjoy Prison, speaks of his campaign against the Shell gas pipeline being constructed in Mayo
The campaigner against the Corrib gas pipeline in Co Mayo, Willie Corduff, is among six people who have each won a Goldman Environmental Prize.
Each of the six will receive $125,000 (€92,000) in recognition of the environmental work in six different regions around the world.
Mr Corduff, a Co Mayo farmer, was one of the so-called Rossport Five, who staged protests against the gas pipeline.
The five were also jailed for being in contempt of a High Court order in relation to the development.
Mr Corduff will receive his award on Monday.
