Police in Northern Ireland are investigating a shooting in west Belfast this evening.
The incident happened around 7pm at a pub on the Stewartstown Road.
One man went into the pub and is reported to have hit another man on the head with an iron bar.
The attacker then challenged the man to come outside and opened fire with a shotgun, wounding him in the leg.
The victim was taken to hospital, where his condition is said to be stable.
It is believed that the shooting is linked to a dispute within the travelling community.
The Sinn Féin MLA for West Belfast, Jennifer McCann, said the shooting took place in broad daylight in front of local children.
She said it was unacceptable and appealed to members of the travelling community to stay calm and to resolve the situation through dialogue.
The MLA said she was prepared to meet the families involved in this dispute in an effort to examine whether it could be ended without further resort to violence.
