A 22-year-old man has died in Midlands Prison in Co Laois.
The man, who was serving 15 months for theft and was due to be released in September, was found dead at 8.30am this morning by prison officers when they unlocked his cell.
He was sharing a cell with two other inmates.
There is no evidence of foul play and it is possible he may have died of a drugs overdose.
