Two men are being sought in connection with the murder of a man on Mornington beach in Co Meath yesterday.
Roy Coddington, a 36-year-old father of three from Drogheda, was shot twice in the face and chest with a handgun. It is thought the killing may have been drugs related.
Gardaí are now looking for two men who were seen running from the scene and escaping in a blue car.
Mr Coddington may have parked a van near the beach and got into a car before being driven onto the beach. Shortly afterwards, he was pulled from the vehicle and shot dead.
It is believed he did have links to the drugs trade some time ago, and this is just one of a number of avenues being investigated by gardaí.
The body has been taken to the State Pathologist's morgue in Marino in Dublin where a post mortem examination will take place.
Gardaí have appealed to anyone with information to come forward.
