The jury in the trial of the 21-year-old woman accused of the murder of a 19-year-old mother in Co Meath last year has been sent to a hotel for the night.
They will resume their deliberations in the morning.
Kelly Noble from Laytown, Co Meath, denies the murder of 19-year-old Emma McLoughlin on 2 June last year.
Mr Justice Barry White told the jurors that they had a number of options.
He said they must decide whether or not Kelly Noble intended to kill or seriously injure mother-of-two Emma McLoughlin. In that case the verdict should be murder.
If they decide Kelly Noble was acting in self-defence and the force she used was no more than a reasonable person would objectively consider necessary, then they must acquit her.
If they decide the amount of force used was not objectively reasonable but that Kelly Noble considered it necessary they can bring in a verdict of manslaughter.
They can also bring in a manslaughter verdict if they decide that Ms Noble was so provoked that she lost control of her actions.
