Family escapes injury in NI petrol bombing

A woman and her three children have escaped injury after a petrol bomb was thrown into their home at Cullybackey in north Antrim.

The attack happened at around 2am this morning when the woman and her three children, aged 19, 17 and ten, were asleep in the house.

The PSNI says the living room window of a house at Kilmakevit Crescent was smashed and a petrol bomb was thrown inside.

The room and its contents were badly damaged by the flames. The family escaped unhurt.

Police do not suspect a sectarian or racial motive and have appealed for information.

Detectives are particularly keen to hear from anyone who can help identify two men dressed in jeans and grey hooded tops running from the scene.
