The investigative work of the commission examining alleged collusion between loyalist paramilitaries and British security forces has been completed.
The final report will be compiled by next Tuesday.
The Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, told the Dáil that he could not give a firm date when the McEntee Commission's final report will be published.
He agreed with the Labour leader, Pat Rabbitte, that the report should be published as soon as possible to avoid leaks of draft copies, which occurred in the case of the Birmingham Commission's investigation into the detention of Dean Lyons.
