A Co Antrim teenager who became the youngest person in Northern Ireland to be charged with a sex crime has been acquitted of the charges.
The unidentified teenager was accused of raping his sister when he was just 14 years old. Now 16, he denied the 12 charges against him, including four for rape and eight for indecent assault.
Prosecution lawyer Gary McCrudden told Belfast Crown Court it had been decided not to offer any evidence against the schoolboy after careful consideration to the case.
Mr Justice Morgan instructed the jury to find the teenager not guilty by direction of each of the charges.
