Pirate radio station founder goes on trial

The founder of a Dublin pirate radio station has gone on trial charged with indecently assaulting two young girls.

The founder of the Radio Dublin pirate radio station has gone on trial at the Central Criminal Court charged with indecently assaulting two young girls.

Eamon Cooke, 70, has pleaded not guilty to 42 charges of indecently assaulting the girls at his home in Dublin between 1974 and 1978. 

Cooke had a high public profile at the time as 'Captain Cooke'.

The girls were aged between 7 and 11 at the time. The trial is expected to last a week.
