Students applying for third-level courses are being urged to be patient if they are experiencing problems with the CAO website.
For the second day running students and teachers have reported significant difficulties logging on to the site.
The deadline for college applications is 5.15pm tomorrow evening.
The CAO says there are no plans at this stage to extend the deadline and it has again defended the system saying it has been upgraded since last year and it is working.
But Frank Mulvihill, President of the Institute of Guidance Counsellors, has said that students are telling him otherwise.
