Denny Doherty, from the 60s folk group the Mamas and the Papas, has died aged 66.
The Canadian singer songwriter died at his home outside Toronto after a short illness.
The Mamas and the Papas shot to fame in the late 60s with hits such as California Dreamin' and Monday, Monday.
Mr Doherty was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
