A woman has died of bird flu in Egypt, according to the World Health Organisation.
Just hours before her death, tests confirmed that she was suffering from the H5N1 strain of the virus.
The 30-year-old woman had been in hospital since mid-December, but doctors had not immediately suspected bird flu as she denied having had contact with poultry.
Her death brings the number of human deaths from H5N1 strain in Egypt to eight.
