The funeral has taken place in the Liberties area of Dublin of the 20-year-old apprentice plumber, Anthony Campbell, who was shot dead last Tuesday while working at the home of the drug dealer, Martin 'Marlo' Hyland.
The chief celebrant, Fr Sean McArdle, described the killing as terrible and evil and said it had shocked all right-thinking people.
Fr McArdle asked a large congregation of mourners in John’s Lane Church to pray that God may touch the hearts of the violent people responsible for Mr Campbell's killing.
Mr Campbell was buried at Newland’s Cemetery following the funeral Mass.
