Six Iraqis were killed in two bomb attacks in and around the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, this morning.
One bomb exploded in the centre of Baghdad on the east side of the Tigris river, killing three people and injuring 16.
A car bomb had exploded earlier in a market on the outskirts of the city in the small town of Husseiniya, killing three people and injuring 15.
In the city centre, Iraqi soldiers clashed with insurgents in the Fadhel neighbourhood. Nine people were wounded in the clashes, including three soldiers.
US forces killed two insurgents, detained 27 and injured an Iraqi woman in a series of raids around Baghdad this morning.
