Seven Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks in Gaza, as a military operation in the region continues.
An air raid in Gaza city left a local commander of the armed wing of Hamas movement dead and wounded four others.
Another Hamas militant and a 46-year-old man died in clashes in the northern town of Beit Hanoun, which has seen sustained fighting over the past number of days.
While four people were killed in nearby Jabaliya, including three in a helicopter strike that left a child in a critical condition.
At least 10 other civilians were wounded in missile strikes overnight.
The fresh violence follows the killing of at least 19 Palestinians yesterday. It is understood half of those killed were civilians, including two women acting as human shields between troops and militants hiding in a mosque.
The Israeli army has claimed it only fired at armed Palestinians.
It says the latest operation in Gaza is aimed at stopping militants launching rockets at the Jewish state.
Israeli forces have killed more than 42 people during a four-day assault, mainly focused on the town of Beit Hanoun.
The operation is said to be part of a broader offensive launched in late June following the kidnapping of an Israeli soldier by militants in a cross-border raid from Gaza.
Since the start of that offensive, nearly 300 Palestinians have been killed, about half of them civilians. Three Israeli soldiers have died during the operation.
