A man has been arrested under Britain's Terrorism Act after a terminal at London's Heathrow airport was evacuated this afternoon because of a suspicious bag.

Passengers were later allowed back into the terminal after the baggage was cleared by specialist officers.

A police spokeswoman said a man had been arrested in connection with this incident.

London Heathrow Airport's Terminal Two was evacuated following the discovery of a suspect bag at about 1.00pm.

Heathrow's three other passenger terminals, including those servicing most Irish flights, were unaffected.
