Largest ever criminal assets settlement made

RTÉ News has learnt that the largest ever single settlement to be reached by the Criminal Assets Bureau has been announced tonight.

A 31-year-old Limerick based businessman named Dylan Creaven who now resides in London has agreed to pay the CAB and the British Assets Recovery Agency £18 million sterling.

He has also agreed to hand over a villa in Marbella and four racehorses.

One of the racehorses - Latino Magic - won the Galway Hurdle in 2005.

Dylan Creaven has been under investigation since 2002 when the Criminal Assets Bureau and the Assets Recovery Agency froze his assets.
