An investigation is under way to find out what caused a British RAF plane to crash in Afghanistan.

14 personnel were killed when the Nimrod MR2 reconnaissance aircraft came down near the city of Kandahar.

It is believed a technical fault was to blame.

Britain's Defence Secretary Des Browne has dismissed claims by the Taliban that militia had shot down the plane.
