Five men were arrested in Dublin last night following street violence between supporters of rival soccer clubs.
The brawl between fans of Bohemians and Shamrock Rovers broke out on Gardiner Street in the north inner city shortly before 7pm.
Eyewitnesses said beer kegs, traffic cones, bricks and bottles were thrown.
Windows of a nearby pub were smashed and a parked car was also damaged.
The trouble broke out ahead of an encounter between the two teams in the third round of the FAI Carlsberg Cup at Tolka Park.
The five men who were arrested were charged with public order offences and released.
