Five killed in Iraq car blast

At least five people have been reported killed in a car bomb blast in the southern outskirts of Baghdad. Police said the attack was on a bridge over the Diyala river.

Meanwhile, a US general has said that there is no evidence the Iranian government is stirring trouble in Iraq in retaliation for US backing of Israel's war on Hezbollah.

However, Major General William Caldwell, the top US military spokesman in Iraq, told a news conference that some Iranian missiles had been found in Iraq.

US officials have previously said the war between Israel and Iran-backed Hezbollah might encourage Tehran to make mischief in Iraq to pressure the United States, which has some 130,000 troops in the country.
